This is a replacement thermostat for open loop cooling , it will keep engine temp at 71c/160f , thermostats should be inspected once or twice per season for paint chips from Inside the engine that will clog the bleeder wholes and cause overheat condition , if necessary also replaced due to corrosion from salt water use.
